What is a Kumquat?

Here is a picture is a kumquat. They are a small fruit that no one has every heard of!!!

9 Weeks!

How Far Along: 9 weeks!!
Size of Baby: The baby is the size of a kumquat this week and measures about 1.75-2.4 inches. It is still so very very small.  
What You’re Doing: The past 3 weeks have been really busy. We enjoyed our vacation to Nashville last weekend, and are settling back into life afterwards! I have been trying to get school wrapped up for the semester! It has kept me overwhelmed and I will be so glad to have it finished next week! Lena is going to be having a oral surgery this coming Friday, because she is so little, we will be doing the procedure at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital under general anesthesia. We would appreciate all your prayer.
Cravings: I have had a few more craving, tonight I just NEEDED choc. chip cookies! As a whole I have loved fruits and really cold water! I am having a lot less food aversions, though red meat does not sound good in theory, but I am fine eating it!
Sleep: I am still not sleeping well; I don’t remember having to use the bathroom so much this early on with Ellena! And the dreams, I feel like all I do is dream which equals to me feeling very unrested.
Sex of Baby:  If you're breaking out like crazy, blame it on your girl babe. The belief goes that girls steal their mother's beauty, hence, those annoying zits. If you have clear skin you have a boy on the way! I have been pretty clear, not feeling like I am any more broken out then normal! So we must be team BOY this month!

Weight Gain: So I not bought a scale yet, but I have weight myself a few time while at my mom’s how and as of last Sunday I weight 132 lbs, so that is 2 lbs so far! Not sure if that is good or not?
Maternity clothes: Jonathan is really starting to say things about my belly rounding out! I am small enough naturally that I am sure, just like last time, it will be a while before other people start noticing my belly but I can tell my low belly is rounder then it normally is! I am not wearing anything maternity, but I have stopped wearing belts with most of my jeans!
Names: I am not sure we have talked any more about name! Though we really should decide more on what we like for a girl. If it is a boy I would like to use the name Pierce for his middle name! It is my Grandfathers middle name and I have always liked the sound of it!
 Symptoms: Well, this comes and goes. I did a lot of dry heaving in week 7 and then last week I was feeling pretty good then Friday hit….. I have started actually throwing up! Some days I throw up more than others, but my stomach is starting to hurt from all the heaving! Other symptoms are the increased tiredness; I have some stretching and pulling in my stomach.
What you’re looking forward to: I am ready for this week to be over, school would be done and Lena would be through surgery! I have my first actually midwife appointment on Thursday so I am really excited about that. I will be 9 weeks so it might still be to early to hear the heart beat, but I can hope, right?
What baby is doing this week: So little one is now considered a fetus. All his internal organs are now formed and fully functional. The heart is just finishing up dividing into the four chambers. The baby is now drinking and some even say he can taste some of what I eat.
 What your body is doing: My uterus is now the size of a large orange or small grapefruit! Hormones are flowing so mood swings will start showing their ugly head (sorry honey).
Thoughts from daddy: Honey I have no idea…. (This is not his favorite thing to do) He would love for me to start feeling better!
