Week 6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How Far Along: 6 weeks!! (I have always felt like when you get to six week you are actually counted as pregnant! Who knows why, weird prego thinking!)
Size of Baby: The baby is the size of a Blueberry this week and measures about 1/2 inch. Even though it is still so small it has more than doubled since last week!
What You’re Doing: We have had a rougher week over here! We all have colds and are getting less sleep because of it! Lena will have a birthday get together with family this weekend and she is so Very Very excited about it. I cannot believe she is going to be 4!
Cravings: NOTHING, I would like to eat nothing all day long! I have wanted some olive garden soup yesterday but it sure isn’t worth the trip out just for my soup. Maybe we will have to plan a date night in order for me to fill my craving!
Sleep: Well, I go back and forth on this one! I have such aches and pains at night that if I take a Tylenol I sleep so well, I don’t want to start taking it all the time so I am not sure what a good answer is. I have thought about drinking some type of night time tea, so hopefully I can find something that will help. I am one tired momma…
Sex of Baby: Ok, so this time we are going to base it on a wives tale saying that if your feet are colder now than before pregnancy then you are having a BOY, If your feet stay the same then you are having a GIRL…. Drum roll please….. My feet are freezing, my whole body really. So, we must be having a BOY!
            Girl – 1            Boy - 1
Weight Gain: I have failed you all….. I did not go and get a scale. I guess it just isn’t very high on my priority list right now. I did look back on my medical records from Lena’s pregnancy (I need to get those to give to my midwife) and I actually lost weight between week 6 and week 10 so maybe I will do the same this time around!
Maternity clothes: Nothing new this week, I feel less bloated this week so have been wearing more normal cloths!
Names: This week the girl name I like is Danielle, it is my sister’s middle name and I think it sounds so feminine.
Symptoms: ok, it all hit this past week! I am dry heaving a lot, today I have dry heaved after everything I put into my mouth, add that to the cold and pregnancy exhaustion and it takes everything I have to make it through the day and still be in a good mood at the end! I get small cramps off and on, but not as much bloating (THANK GOODNESS).
Fetal Movement: NO… I think I will take this question out and just add it back in when it happens!!!
What you’re looking forward to: I am excited for a lot this week. I am going to a friend’s baby shower on Saturday. I haven’t seen her in a while so it will be so nice to catch up. Lena’s party on Saturday evening and thanksgiving with my entire family next Thursday!!! We did make our next midwife appointment for December 6’th… I cannot wait to hear this baby’s heart beat!
What baby is doing this week: This week the baby’s brain is becoming more complex and is developing cavities and passages vital for circulating spinal fluid. The baby’s face is becoming more defined with the lenses of the eyes and the middle part of the ear forming. Tiny arms, legs, hands and feet are also beinging to bud!
What your body is doing: They say because this is my second baby I may start showing earlier this time around, they say my uterus is already warmed up and will stretch out a bit faster. I am definitely not seeing this happen but we will see in a few weeks what I think, I did not show well with Ellena until around 6 months!
Thoughts from daddy: These Tam-Tams are way too expensive, need to find a cheaper food that tastes like nothing! Just want my prego wife to feel better….. Really excited to hear the baby’s heart beat on the next visit to the midwife!
Thoughts from Ellena: Lena has been asking more and more questions about the baby. Most of than have to do with why is the baby not out yet! She is also getting a bit clingier towards me. She wants me to stay with her wherever we go and she does not really want to play in a room I am not in! Maybe we will work through the jealousy before the baby gets here. “um, um, um, I want to play with him with my toys!”

Just wanted to say I am sorry I didn't get a 6 week post up today. I have a bad head cold on top of my extremely tired pregnancy so it just didn't happen today. Will really try for tomorrow!

Midwife Appointment!

Morning everyone!!!
We were so excited to meet with our potential midwife last Thursday and I am so sorry it took this long to give you all an update about it! It was really just a meet and greet between us and the midwife. She has the cutest office with everything you would find in a small doctors office! We were brought to a room with her and her assistant and were just able to ask any questions we wanted! Jonathan says I asked so very very nerves, but I think I did ok!
I thought I would share with you a few of the questions we asked and the answers! If you were not aware yet, we have decided to do a home birth for a couple different reason! Maybe I will do a separate post another time talking about how we came to that decision!

Question #1... At what point in my labor will you come to my home?
Answer .....     She would like be to be in active labor before coming over to my house! She would like me to be having contractions for 1 hour that are 1 minute long and 1 minute apart. Of course we will be communicated with her before this time so she is ready to come as soon as she is needed!

Question #2 .... Have you done VBACs very often?
Answer .....       She has done alot of VBACs... she says that she did have one women who when they got to her house, they judge off of the way she was acting that it would be best to go ahead and transfer her to the hospital, but otherwise she has had very good outcomes in her VBACs.

Question #3 .... Have you ever missed a birth?
Answer ....        She said that YES this does happen. She said it is most often a mothers second child who just thinks she has more time before she will deliver and then calls her when it is time to push!

Question #4 .... Between what weeks am I able to deliver at home?
Answer ....        I mist be at least 36 weeks 6 days in order to deliver at home. If I were to go into labor before that time, we would need to deliver at the hospital. If I were to go past my due date and hit 42 weeks she would then ask me to see a OB/GYN and let them do an ultrasound to evaluate the health of the baby and the placenta. We will make a decision from that point.

Question #5 .... How is the birth certificate obtained?
Answer .....      She will take care of this for us as well as the social security card!

Question #6 .... What hospital do you transfer to?
Answer .... She has a doctor she work in tandem with who works out of the hospital that is across the street from us. This is not the closest hospital to her office so we were so excited to hear this news. this really help Jonathan feel comfortable that if we need to transfer for any reason we will have a faster transition into the closest hospital!

We asked a few more, but those were the main one! If you think of something you want to know that I didn't answer here, just ask!  I will be back Wednesday with my 6 week update!

SLEEP

I was so blessed to be able to go to sleep at 7:30 last night. Jonathan played quietly with Lena so I could go to bed early. It was so nice but a bit crazy being in bed that early..... That being said..... I am so exhausted this afternoon, how can this be. All I want to do is sleep....Grrrr.

5 week update! (Picture still to come)

Good afternoon everyone! I will have to add a 5 week photo later tonight! But I am so excited we have made it to week 5!! Enjoy!

How Far Along: 5 weeks!! (Wow that doesn’t sound veryfar along…)

Size of Baby: Thebaby is the size of a pea this week and measures about 1/12 to 1/6 inch. Thisis so crazy small.

What You’re Doing: We have a pretty easy weekthis week! I have a pretty large load of school work this month, and it hasbeen hard to just sit and stare at the computer for hours without wanting tofall asleep, but I am pushing through! We are starting to plan Lena’s birthdayget together; I cannot believe she is almost 4. It doesn’t seem that long ago.I am still just in shock over being pregnant! It just doesn’t seem real! I havebeen reading through the book of Daniel and it has really been pushing me tothink about if I would take such a strong stand in such trying situation! Itreally has been a blessing to my heart!

Cravings: I still don’t think I have any crazy cravings Ipretty much just want bland starches.

Sleep: I am actually sleeping really badly. I thought I would sleep great sinceI am so tired all day long, but I just never seem to get comfortable and mymind doesn’t seem to shut off. I feel like as soon as I am drifting off tosleep I feel the need to use the restroom! This is making me one very tiredmama.

Sex of Baby: ok, so we obviously do not know the sex of the babyyet, but I thought I would do one of the old wives tales each week until we doknow what we are having! This week I will do the Chinese birth chart/calendar.This is based off of the age of the mother and the month she conceived.According to this chart I should have a GIRL!!!!! Sowe will say we have one vote for girl!
    Girl – 1 Boy- 0

Weight Gain: Well, I don’t have a scale, so I am not sureabout this one yet I will have to go out a get myself one so I can keep this upto date! I will say that I started at 130 (this is exactly what I weight when Igot pregnant with Ellena) I will try and update this more next week!

Maternity clothes: I have notbeen wearing maternity clothes obviously, but I will say I am veryuncomfortable in jeans with a belt. I just wear sweats when I am at home andthen suffer through it when I go out. I did buy a BeBand (target) that I canwear instead of a belt and it will help hold up my jeans, but I only wear thison really bloated days! I can’t wait till I need it because my baby is big, andnot because I am bloated! Booo…

Names: Well we do not have a girl’s name picked out,we are still working on that one. I like Sadie, Caydence, Grace, and Olivia! Wewill see!

Symptoms: Istill have pretty much NO symptoms! My cramping has gone away, and I feel likeI am learning to cope with the exhaustion. I don’t have headaches. I did have amorning of dry heaving on Sunday. Lena only wanted mac&cheese for breakfast.Jonathan was making her some instant mac and when he opened the dry cheesepacket that was the start of about 30 minutes of dry heaving over the toilet. Ihad not eaten anything yet that morning, so I have really been trying to makesure I am at least eating a few crackers first thing out of bed. Other thenthat I have not felt sick at all! I think I would feel more “pregnant” if I didfeel sick.

Fetal Movement: Amobvious big fat NO!

What you’re looking forwardto: Mymidwife appointment is tomorrow at 11. I will try and update you all with howit went and share some of the questions we asked her!

What baby is doing this week: The baby’s arm and legbuds have now formed webbed structures that will turn into hands and feet. Itwill also have a distinguishable head and body by the end of this week. Thebrain will be formed. The baby’s heart was formed last week and it is no biggerthan a poppy seed. It will begin beating this week and start circulating bloodthroughout its little body.

What your body is doing: They say that the hormones in my body shouldreally start increasing this week, causing that morning sickness and othersymptoms to increase. We will see, I was never sick when pregnant with Ellenaso crossing my fingers it will be close to the same with this one!

Thoughts from daddy: I am so excited; I cannot believe this is happening!Though I could live without some of the crazy Prego HORMONES! I am reallyhoping we are having a baby boy!

Thoughts from Ellena: Lena has been so excited about the baby thisweek. She talks about it so often, and will bring it up out of nowhere. Shetells me she thinks it is so cute or that she can feel it kicking! J We have told her it is asecret and not to tell people. When I went to pick her up from Sunday school onSunday the teacher says “I think she told me something I wasn’t suppose toknow, if she did  I will keep it asecret!” It was so funny. They had done a craft where they were asked what theywere thankful for… She said her BABY!!! I am going to go ask her what shethinks about the baby today! …….  Herthoughts; “I am so happy about the baby, I want to tell everyone tomorrow and can hecome in 40 days!”

Found something to eat!!!

I finally found something that "sounds" good to me. Thankfully I found these in clearance. They have pretty much no flavor and are very boring and bland!!!! Perfect!!!!

The journey has begun!!!

Well, It is time to announce that we are PREGNANT!!!! We are so excited about this next step in growing our family! I have never blogged before, but would love to document this time in our lives! I will do weekly update and then add updates as needed! I am so excited..... HERE WE GO!!!

How Far Along:  4 weeks

Weight Gain/Total Weight Gain:  Zero (0) pounds

Food Cravings:  Well, I have to say that I desire to eat NOTHING this week. I am starving but then when I try and think of something that sounds good, I come up with NOTHING!!!!

Food Aversions:  ANYTHING sweet. I know that is crazy, but if it is sweet like candy, cake, or icecream, I do not want anything to do with it!

Pregnancy Symptoms:  I am so tired. I would love to sleep in, then take a nap, then go to bed early! I know this is not possible, but would still LOVE IT! I am also having some cramping, they say this is normal. I don't remember this will Lena so it worries me some, but it is not painful and comes and goes, so I think I am OK!

What I Miss The Most:  Having ENERGY! I am so unmotivated! Hoping this gets better, or I will have a very messy house and get zero school done!

What I’m Looking Forward To:  I am looking forward to telling more people, I know so many will be excited for us, and Jonathan would love to tell the whole world!

Next Appointment: We are going to meet with a midwife on November 11'th. We are having a hard time finding a doctor who is will to do a VBAC ( vaginal birth after Cesarian) so we are looking into having a midwife deliver our baby! I am actually really excited about this possibility and can;t wait to meet with her!
